iphone-jailbreak-31

We at TheRaceLine are also tech junkies, today the new iPhone OS 3.1 was announced by Apple. And with a new OS update usually comes a new jailbreak update. Well the Dev-Team announced that they have a iPhone 3.1 Jailbreak on the way as well. Be sure not to update to the new iTunes 9 if you plan on jailbreaking your iPhone however, as you may lose your ultrasn0w unlock. The Dev-Team did say that their PwnageTool will work with the new iPhone 3.1 jailbreak however. Be sure to click no when iTunes asks you to update, stay tuned for the official iPhone 3.1 jailbreak from the Dev-Team.

From Dev-Team blog:

“This week Apple will be all over the news with their announcements at Wednesday’s “Let’s Rock” event. But with so many new owners of the iPhone 3GS, and with so many new owners of the iPhone 3G (perhaps sold to them by these new 3GS owners)…now is a good time to send out this general advisory.

If you update to Apple’s new software using the normal iTunes process, you will lose your ultrasn0w unlock. In fact you may lose it permanently, because for most people the baseband firmware cannot be reverted to a previous version (unlike the main application CPU firmware).

But don’t worry…our PwnageTool program lets you update your main firmware without touching your baseband firmware, so you can still have the best of both worlds. But you must be diligent about saying “no” to your iTunes request this week to update your firmware.”

car-blu-ray-player

I love watching Blu-rays on my PS3 and Panasonic HDTV, well it looks like car guys will be able to enjoy hi-def picture quality in their cars. Panasonic in Japan just released their new in-car Blu-ray players. The Panasonic CY-BB1000D is the first in-car Blu-ray player and it comes with an HDMI input, 7-inch screen display with 1280×720 resolution. It also supports Bonus View content with Blu-rays that are compatible.

The player is rated at 50W through four channels and also has an SD card slot that allows users to view AVCHD-encoded H.264 movies from camcorders. It also plays DVDs and has 5.1-channel audio support and Dolby TrueHD as well as DTS-HD surround sound. What makes the new Panasonic Blu-ray player even cooler is the built-in 80GB hard drive to store music and movies.

And if that is not cool enough it also includes a USB cable to connect your iPods and iPhones to play through the device, as wel as Bluetooth to sync your headsets and cellphones to. The two Panasonic Blu-ray players will go for $1,060 and $3,874 in Japan. No word on when it come to the USA.

inspiretech iphone 3g battery pack

inspiretech iphone 3g battery pack

One of the main criticisms of the Apple iPhone 3G is the short battery life, this is especially true if you use your iPhone’s apps or 3G network. Inspiretech is set to release a new iPhone 3G battery pack towards the end of the year that is said to be comparable to all the other iPhone battery packs on the market, but will retail at only $29.99. It is quite a bit cheaper than the competition, but when looking at the product you would never know it. Inspiretech says it takes their battery pack about 2 hours to fully charge your iPhone 3G giving your iPhone about double the standby time, talk time, as well as video and music playback time. The Inspiretech iPhone 3G Battery Pack features an LED charging indicator that turns from red to green when charging the battery is completed. You can use the iPhone USB sync cable to charge the battery pack or you can put your iPhone in the battery pack to charge both devices at the same time.

Where ever you need to give your iPhone 3G a quick charge, the iPhone 3G Battery Pack from Inspiretech will keep your iPhone juiced, and at a price that won’t break the bank!

The iPhone 3G Battery Pack is available now from Inspiretech.com

Review: Inspiretech iPod dock to AUX cable

ipod dock to aux cable

ipod dock to aux cable

I love listening to my iPod in my car and for the longest time I used a cheapo 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, which is six feet long and way too much cable for use in the car, but I was never fully satisfied with the sound quality. I would get hisses from the speakers which ruined my music listening experience in rush hour traffic. So I decided to pick up an iPod dock to 3.5mm AUX cable from the folks over at Inspiretech. The price was right and it was exactly what I was looking for so I decided to give it a try. I added an auxiliary input to my MINI Cooper S just so I could use my iPod so I wanted the best music quality available while. Right when I plugged it in and turned on the iPod and my OEM radio the sound difference was apparent. The quality was greatly improved and I could actually hear bass coming through my speakers now. This is most likely attributed to the music being transmitted via the iPod dock and not the headphone jack anymore.

This cable works with all iPods and connects to any device with a 3.5mm input, not just car stereos. At only $7.99 this is one great deal that is guaranteed to enhance your listening experience while cruising in traffic.
